London Independent Photography (LIP)
LIP is a group of over 200 photographers from various photographic
backgrounds. There's no criteria for membership and anyone interested
in photography is welcome to join.
The group has members from outside London
and overseas affiliations.
LIP was founded in 1987, and it has an active
and vibrant programme of workshops and lectures by practitioners
and prominent teachers.
In 2004 the group held a annual exhibition
at the Cottons Centre on the Thames Bankside with 140 prints from
40 members being displayed. There
is to be another annual exhibition in October 2005, at the same
venue.
The LIP web site has comprehensive information
about LIP, including work from recent exhibitions, details of the
Workshop and Talks programme, extracts from the LIP Journal, profiles
of some LIP members with samples of work, updates on new LIP exhibitions
including the Annual Exhibition, and a form for joining.
